Veteran’s Day Tribute

Today is a very special day brought about after the ending of WWI.

Since that time all American Soldiers Sailors, Airmen and Marines that have fought, died, been wounded and have come home w/honor and victory from numerous conflicts are honored on November 11th, “Veteran’s Day”.

The courage, and commitment of our veterans, past and present, reflect perfectly the fundamental values of our great America.

We can live without a lot of things, but we cannot live without our American military who sacrifice everything in their lives so we can have freedom in our lives.

On this “Veterans Day may we all take and minute and thank our men and women for their service to our country.

The lyrics of Toby Keith’s song “American Soldier” convey these sentiments perfectly. Please share this moving video on this very special day.

I just watched the tribute to veterans by Toby Keith and it brought back so many memories of the 2 years that I served in Vietnam. I sprayed Agent Orange on A C-123 Ranch Hand. We were shot down in 1967, captured and spent 2 years in a POW camp. The woman laying on the grave of her husband brought tears to my eyes.I was diaganosed with “Lou Gehrigs Disease” in 2009 because of Agent Orange. May GOD bless all of our veterans and our active military troops. GOD Bless America!!!

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13. Thank you to all of you who have been willing to lay your lives down for not only family ad friends but for those who you don’t even know yet. It is because of your willingness to sacrifice everything that we are free to worship as we see fit, to assemble peaceablly, to go to school, to work in te jobs and industry of our choosing, to start our own business and a million other freedoms we take for granted! Americans do not let the sacrifices be for nothing! Honor the veterans in your family by learning what our Constitution really says and standing for the Judeo-Christian principles it is based upon.

I am a Vietnam veteran living in best country on the planet. Sure, we have problems but we’re still relatively young and will work them out.
I thank all the military past and present for their service and sacrifice. I I refer to those currently service as kids because they are so much younger than me but they are men and women, most of them old before their time. I ask that you treat them with the love and respect that they deserve.

  27. DeloresTaylor says:

This is a great country and those men a women who serve in our militay are the greatest. Please treat them with the respect they deserve. I am an old person now and I have seen many things in my life but seeing a person standing by the curb as the military men go by,holding the flag with such diginity makes my eyes well up. Then there are some who can’t even put their hand over their hearts as they march by makes me more sad. What are we teaching the children today if we don’t show are respect as we should. May all our soldiers come home soon and God is with them each day. With the Lord’s coming soon may we all live in peace and in a new world. God be with each and every one of you who is serving and has served. Amen

I am a Vietnam Vet, and say to all my brothers and sisters in arms, Happy Veterans Day, thank you for your service and sacrifice, and welcome home. So often over the years I become upset with the direction we are moving and the leadership of this great nation. Then, as the year goes by, Veterans Day comes along and I am of course, proud of my service, but most importantly, I am moved by the general love and appreciation of the wonderful people of this, the greatest nation on this planet. To those of my fellow citizens who have looked a veteran in the eye and said “Thank You” today, or even better, have hugged a veteran and said “I Love You”, I say to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant…” (Matthew 25: 23).

  30. Sylvia Villalobos Stubbs says:

Having just participated in a most moving Veteran’s Day tribute at our Central United Methodist Church here in Richmond, IN I wish to thank every veteran who has served in the military both in this country and in my native country, Canada. We have been good and faithful neighbors and stand true to one another. I have a much deeper appreciation for the respect Americans pay to freedom and to your flag. We are honored to be living here and to be able to have temporarily called America “home”. Thank you, veterans.

  34. Jasmine Holloway says:

Today I want to thank my Father, Thomas W. Holloway, for all of the sacrifices he made for this country and his family during his 30 years of distinguished service in the Army. He fought in Korea when he was only 17 years old and later in Vietnam. I also want to remember a couple of his best friends who didn’t make it home alive – Sgt. John C. Judd (Korea-KIA), PFC Donald Burkholder (Korea-KIA), SFC Blackman (Vietnam-KIA). God rest their souls in glory forever. Amen.

  35. Jo Otero says:

God bless everyone of them and take them home to His rest. We also remember the British soldiers who died and are still dying for our freedom. We call it ‘Remembrance Day’. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. Amen.

  36. Carol Metheny says:

2 grandfathers in WWI,7 uncles in WWII, 1 cousin in the Cuban missile crisis at Bay of Pigs,1 cousin in Europe in Air Force, 1 cousin who is a Viet Nam vet.
All proudly served this great nation and we all still live free because of the sacrifices of ALL of our military personnel. 42. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your blog?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with
it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two
images. Maybe you could space it out better?
