Homeless to Harvard – Liz Murray

The inspiring story of Liz Murray. After having grown up homeless with drug addicted parents, Liz Murray watched her mother die and her sister and father move on when she was only 16.

Finding herself not only homeless but now alone, she made a transforming decision.

Not wanting to continue living on the streets of New York she wondered how much her life would change if she spent every hour of every day working to change it.

She completed 4 years of High School in only 2 years and then heard that the New York Times was offering scholarships for needy students. Liz applied and won and was accepted into Harvard University.

Her father passed on when she was 20 and since then she graduated from Harvard and is just recently the author of her autobiography; Breaking Night A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival and My Journey From Homeless to Harvard.

She is also the founder and director of Manifest Living. This is a company whose focus is helping and empowering adults to create the extraordinary in their own lives.

I saw her story on TV truly inspiring ….. she went through so much, junkies for parents , lost everything but had that inner strength and resolve to do something with her life, self and not became a victim of her situation.
That took sheer guts, determination, will power, strength and courage….
Life have a way of opening up to you when you push hard against it.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO BE……..

You are God’s example on earth for others who have no where to turn except to God and the Holy Spirit and of course the street. Except—you pushed on with determination. It takes time but when a person persues they meet their goal. I am sooooooo proud of you! and look forward to reading your book. God Bless You and keep up the good work entrusted to you. Alma
