Pine Tree Crosses Easter Story

Last April on a Sunday we took one of our "nowhere" drives, my husband was quietly driving a back road. I was occupied in the front passenger seat watching the scenery.

I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my husband was straining to look out my window. This startled me, since his eyes should be on the road in front of him. I asked him what he was looking at out the windows, and he quietly replied, "Nothing."

His eyes went back to the road in front of him.

After a few minutes, I looked over at my husband and noticed a tear running down his cheek. I asked him what was wrong. This time he told me, "I was just thinking about Pop and a story he had once told me." Of course, because it had to do with his Pop I wanted to know the story, so I asked him to share it with me.

He said, "When I was about 8 years old, Pop and I were out fishing and that’s when he told me that the Pine trees know when it is Easter."

I had no idea what he meant by that, so I pressed him for more information.

He continued on… "The Pine trees start their new growth in the weeks before Easter — if you look at the tops of the Pine trees two weeks before, you will see the yellow shoots. As the days get closer to Easter Sunday, the tallest shoot will branch off and form a cross.

By the time Easter Sunday comes around, you will see that most of the Pine trees will have small yellow crosses on all of the tallest shoots."

I turned to look out the window and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a week before Easter, and you could see all of the trees with the tall yellow shoots stretching to Heaven.

The tallest ones shone in the sunlight like rows of tiny golden crosses.

This goes to show that everything God created does what it suppose to do except man who God gave dominion over all things. The word says that if we don’t praise him, He’ll make the rocks cry out & I don’t want no rock to cry for me. I suggest that man give God the glory & praise for there’s none other that can create a beautiful world like this nor breathe into another & give life. God also has the power to end time. Let us all be obedient to His word, pray for one another, & humble ourselves. Remember, there is only one God & the Holy Bible is our road map for living. Don’t be weary in well doing, stand on God’s word only, humble yourself as a child, pray constantly, make sure all glory goes to GOD. Now, let us praise GOD for HE is definitely worthy to be praised!

God is truly amazing! There is nothing to hard for My GOD! He is worthy to be Praised by everything that He has created, including the pine trees. And if the pine trees praise Him don’t you think we (Humans) should praise Him much more. He died for us and rose from the dead so we could have a better life. Give God some Praise, it belongs to Him.

It’s truly fascinating how God created everything in this earth… He created this amazing awesome nature so we can enjoy them… I always think that Easter is a new beginning of life, the resurrection of Jesus Christ who saves us from our sins and bring us new hopes… like the dormant trees in the Winter that are sprouting and blossoming in the Spring…. In Psalms 33:20 *NIV, ” We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.”… In Isaiah 40: 31, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” ” They will soar on wings like Eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

  45. I recently saw this interesting article that discussed the biggest ways in which gardening has shifted over the past several years. It suggests that natural and all-season gardens are the most widespread changes that have occurred. I wonder if this consensus holds true for most of us gardeners.
