The Miracle of the Bamboo Plant

We can learn a lot from the amazing bamboo plant. The bamboo plant can be found all over the world in varied climates, from the cold mountainous regions to the hot tropical areas. They can be found in North and South America, throughout East Asia, northern Australia, and southern Africa. It is also, one of the most versatile plants. Bamboo can be used to cook in, eat and eat off of, sit on, walk on, ride on, and live under.

But what is most unique about the bamboo plant is that after the seed for this amazing plant is planted, you see nothing, absolutely nothing, for four years except for a tiny shoot coming out of a bulb. Finally during the fifth year the bamboo plant grows up to eighty feet! It can grow up to 3 feet in one day alone!

There are so many lessons to be learned from the Bamboo plant. We can learn to be patient and not give up when things don’t appear as we would hope for or expect. Also, through the bamboo plant we can learn to have a deeper appreciation when our goals are finally met.

Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (NIV)

“The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Toiled ever upward through the night.”

Just this very day I was looking at some rental property and behold I saw many huge bamboo trees in the backyard! A friend of mine and myself had a closer look and were bewildered to see them. Some of them had been cut off and reminded me of their use for fishing poles. I told my friend I was going to check online about their history! I never checked it out and just now found your email on the miracle of the bamboo tree! Wow just reminds me how God watches our every step and cares about our concerns and plan to use the inspirational significance it brings on a future radio broadcast! Thanks for obeying God in such a timely manner for my life..this all happened today! ha..great! Rev Linda Reedy

May be you all will call me a pessimist and a fool. But this is a fact. With all the hardship mother brings up her only son with all the love and care, sacrificing every dime for his education etc, etc. But soon after marriage the son has forgotten what his mother went through to bring him up.She is now cursed, humiliated and scorned at and even called ‘cheap’ by him and his family.Didn’t the mother teach him values? She did every possible thing required. He was even sent to the best convent school and colleges. But who is the loser at the end? The mother, isn’t it? Where did she go wrong? This perseverance, have faith is all lost to her.
