This is such a moving performance by Wynonna Judd. She talks about lossing her biological Father and she realized that she is a child of God. And because of that Wynonna knows who she really is. Her performance is very touching and you can feel her passion.

She grew up in Ashland, Kentucky. Her father, Charles Jordan died in 2000. This was when she went through a period in her life, as she describes as “of not really sure what to do next.”

“You know those times in your life, you know how to work, you know how to get up in the morning but the quiet stillness of the night comes, you kind of sit there and go, ‘well, is this what it’s all about?’ And in a flash I realized that though I never got to meet my earthly Father I will meet my Heavenly Father. And I believe that.”

I wanted to dedicate this post today to all the people who’s lives were affected by 9/11/01. A decade has passed and it still so vivid of where we were, what we saw and how we felt. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of 9/11.

In all 150 of the Psalms, the phrase I will was sung 140 times.
When Asaph was disillusioned with the circumstances in his life, he sang, “I will meditate on all Thy works…I will remember your deeds.”
When David was wondering if God heard his cries for help, he said, “I will come into your house; in reverence I will bow down.” And when he felt like he was being defeated, he sang “I will know that God is for me…I will not be afraid.”
The Psalmists didn’t say “I think” or “I feel” or “I should” it was “I Will.” Saying “I Will” is a determined course of action.

This is a very moving story. It is about a 17 year old boy named Brian Moore who had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. “I wowed ‘em,” he later told his father, Bruce. “It’s a killer. It’s the bomb. It’s the best thing I ever wrote..” It also was the last.

Right after Brian wrote it he was killed in a car accident.

The Moores framed a copy of Brian’s essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. “I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,” Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son’s vision of life after death. “I’m happy for Brian. I know he’s in heaven. I know I’ll see him.”

Mark Lowry is best known for the song he co-wrote  titled: “Mary Did You Know”.  However, his talents as a songwriter are hugely overshadowed not only by his stellar Baritone vocals with the Southern Gospel group The Gaither Vocal Band but also by his talents as a Christian comedian.

This weekend our Holy Week culminates with the holiest of days!

Jesus lived His entire life in fulfillment of scripture and through Him we have an eternal hope.

He came to teach us not only how to live in peace with others but with ourselves as well.

His greatest message is to love:

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22: 37-39

When Jesus had a meal prepared to celebrate the Passover with the Apostles, the night before the normal night of celebration, he did so knowing that his hour was at hand.

He also knew that Judas Iscariot would be the one who would – that night – turn him over to his enemies.

During that evening, He washed the Apostles feet explaining the importance to serve others. He broke bread and drank wine with them as a symbol of remembrance.

Jesus talked with them about many things that night and when it was time for them to leave, he continued to speak to them. He told them how to continue being his Apostles after he was gone and He invited them to love one another as He had loved them.

Today is Holy Wednesday! For many it is the last day of Lent – but it is also a day when many Christians focus their attention on *Fasting *Praying and *Charity.

Through Fasting we are reminded that it is not the things of this world that will sustain us but rather our dependence on God.

We Pray to fill the spiritual need that cannot be sufficed by ourselves or others.

We Give because EVERYTHING that we have is from God. Everything is His to share and it is our responsibility to share in return. (Traditionally, the money we save by fasting is given to those in need.)

Holy Wednesday – the Wednesday before Easter – reminds us that it is only through our relationships with others that we can have a fulfilling relationship with God.
