We all go through phases, sometimes I am super productive and at other times all I want to do is relax or hang out with my friends. Sometimes we need a little refresher, something to inspire us to re-evaluate our goals and wants from life, and this video sure is one of those reminders.

Steven Curtis Chapman says perfectly how we should look at life and approach each day.

Chapman started off his young adulthood with the intention of becoming a doctor! After just a couple of semester in pre-med school he transferred to Anderson College in Indiana and shortly after that he pursued his calling and went to Nashville to pursue a career in music.

Just this year he received an honorary Doctorate Of Music degree from Anderson College. This esteemed honor followed his 20 comtemporary Christian albums, his five Grammy awards and 56 (!!!) Gospel Music “Dove” Awards.

We are so blessed that Steven Curtis Chapman pursued the desire of his heart.  He is a true inspiration and continues to give hope and inspire others through his music.

Carrie Underwood grew up on her parents’ farm in the small rural town of Checotah, Oklahoma (current population is 3727).

She did not come from a musical family of any kind, yet, she grew up singing in church and school and talent shows around her area.

She tried out for American Idol at the urgings of her sorority sisters in college. Not only did Carrie win the 4th season, but since then she has continued to top the charts as a solo artist as well have her albums.

Right before our eyes, Carrie is becoming a prolific songstress and this rendition of How Great Thou Art (accompanied by Vince Gill) clearly shows why.

Not only is Ron DiCianni a truly gifted artist, but lucky for us, he is a Christian artist. All of his paintings are of biblical and inspirational scenes.

Each one of his works of art is deeply moving and one cannot help but to be filled with emotion when viewing his paintings.

Ron DiCianni begins each venture by reading his bible and a prayer for guidance and inspiration. It is obvious he is very inspired.

One of his latest undertakings – a mural – as seen in this video, has been a devotion of two years of his time. It is titled The Resurrection and will be hung in the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas, TX.

One of the greatest joys must be to watch the youth of our time getting excited about God.

At the age of 10 Michael made a decision to give his life to Christ. Now through his sold out concerts, cd’s and books he reaches out to help others do the same.

He continues to reach out in other ways as well. In 1994, he founded a teen club called Rocketown in an effort to provide a a place for teens to gather in a safe, loving environment. Later he became active in a prayer group that grew so much it is now a church.

Michael also continues to be an advocate for helping impoverished areas of the world – always bringing the gospel to those who are suffering or in need.

In this video, Michael W. Smith might be the one on stage, but the thousands who came to see and hear him are the true stars.

This fun, energetic and upbeat song is a worldwide favorite. It was written by a man who stuttered so bad as a child that he became afraid to talk.

John Park Larkman “Scatman John” liked to say that scatting was a process of “turning my biggest problem into my biggest asset”.

After becoming a piano player so that he could have something to hide behind, he wrote this song to inspire children who stuttered to overcome adversity.

It also serves as good motivation to get up and move your feet

Sometimes in life it seems as though some people were just born or meant to fulfill a position. Eric Whitacre is one of those people.

Eric’s love for music was catapulted when he was singing in his college choir in Las Vegas. From that time on his career to uber composer began to sky-rocket.

Eric is known not only for composing – what are considered to be – masterpieces, but also for his creativity.

In this video his idea to unite people from all around the world materialized beautifully and they didn’t even have to leave their homes!

Last night I got to listen to “Sam the Cooking Guy” give a very funny and inspiring speech about the path that took him to his Emmy winning cooking show.

Sam’s first career was working for a drug producing company in a job that he “hated”. Wanting a change and with “zero culinary experience” Sam took a big risk. He decided to create a cooking show for TV (a realm that he had “no” experience with) that would cater to the “Average Joe”.

Now, with over 100 cooking shows, 12 Emmy’s and his 3rd cooking book about to hit the bookstores, Sam is living his dream.

Sam’s biggest words of encouragement last night were to do what you love. His encouraging words were “follow your heart, chase your passion and everything will fall into place”. He said that working for the sake of money does not bring happiness or success. Rather, when you do what you enjoy, your energy will reach out to everyone you meet and when you can reach out to people in a positive way – there you will find real success and happiness.

This rather amusing video clip from a segment on the Today Show was one that he said became a pivotal moment in his career that ironically catapulted him into becoming a household name. He said that even when things don’t go the way you hope, if you are following your heart, they have a way of working out. (Sam will appear on the Today Show once again in May for the “10th” time!)

This heartwarming story has been in the media a few times lately. Just a few days ago, Ellen returned home after a week-long stay in the hospital for chest pains but she is home recovering now.

In 1984 Twins Helen (Ashe) and Ellen’s (Turner) desire to serve the needy in their hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee became a reality.

After watching a soup line on television, they began cooking in the basement of a small church. They served 22 meals on their first day.

Now, at age 80, they serve 2000 meals a week and 80% of those are delivered from their “Love Kitchen Community Center” by volunteers.

Helen and Ellen exude pure selfless love. Everyone is greeted with a huge hug and they run the Love Kitchen with the philosophy of their father:

1) There is only one Father and that is the Father in Heaven
2) There is only one race, the human race… and
3) Never take the last piece of bread. Someone may come by in need of it.

Please pray for Helen’s recovery and please continue to pray for our Japanese neighbors. We should all adopt the goodwill of these amazing twins.
